GENERAL INFORMATION: Dismissed or Discharged DAs - there is a difference

Discharged or Dismissed: How your Deferred Adjudication is
terminated matters to some apartment management companies

So what's the difference? I'm not a lawyer, and you should ask if you aren't sure of the status of your DA but here is my understanding of what the apartment management company screening company said:

"A Deferred Adjudication that is DISCHARGED just means the probation has been finished."

"A Deferred Adjudication that is DISMISSED means the case was "thrown out" and doesn't count against the person."

I really don't think that was the intent of the Deferred Felony law in Texas but as long as complexes are looking at it that way I will continue to build my Deferred Adjudication Database for the following:

1. On Deferred Adjudication Probation
2. Off Deferred Adjudication Probation
3. Off DA with a Dismissal

So, don't be chained to a past mistake, see my website: www.AptFindFelons.com.

I don't know of another Apartment Locator in Texas that specializes in only helping clients rent with criminal issues in Houston, DFW, Austin, and San Antonio.
